Nowadays the availability of many user-friendly digital cameras and excellent macro lens gives to anyone the opportunity of
realizing very nice pictures, even on minerals (which are not easy to photograph at all!). All the pictures reported in this site have been done with a Nikon D90 and a
Tamron SP AF 90mm F2.8
(Macro 1:1) lens. I recognize this is not a camera within range of all, but before purchasing the Nikon I used other less advanced devices and the results were very satisfactory. I think
the most important thing is "to use" your love for minerals!
Anyway... Some of the pictures I've obtained are so good as I often use them as a desktop wallpaper on my PC. Then, I've thought it could be a nice idea to make my favourite pictures available
to everyone interested in having a fine wallpaper too! I'll try to update this page quite often, in order to let you download as many pictures as possible, of course in high resolution.
