Anglesite and Fosgenite

Monteponi, Cagliari - 5.5x4.5x5 cm

Really a classic specimen from Sardinia. A lustrous Anglesite crystal of 1.1 cm is vertically placed at the base of a couple of Fosgenite crystals (about 2 cm). The Anglesite has a perfect, multi-faced termination, is transparent and has a rather deep yellow color, a very rare feature in this kind of specimens coming from the closed mine of Monteponi. It is not easy to find such an association on the market and both species (especially the Fosgenite) have always a rather high selling rate. I purchased this stunning miniature by an italian dealer in the 80's.
