Apophyllite on Chalcedony

Nasik (Maharashtra), India - 8.5x6x3 cm

This incredible gemmy apophyllite of 2.5 cm really looks like a gemstone! It is perfectly placed on a carpet of white chalcedony and has an amazing brightness and very well-defined edges. The crystal is practically uncoloured, except for an intriguing and trasversal green-pale vein. A specimen with a great aesthetics! I shopped it at Gargoti Minerals (an Indian dealer on the Web) in 2009.
