Apatite on Chlorite

Lappago, Bolzano - 11.5x7.5x5 cm

Within a pair of old collections of alpine minerals I had the opportunity of looking at stunning specimens of alpine apatites: huge plates with trasparent crystals of several centimetres, often associated with brilliant quartzes, adularia and clorite. The good old days! As a matter of fact, at present it is very rare to find these kind of alpine specimens on the market. This cabinet exhibit a group of small, perfect crystals on a carpet of dark green chlorite, including a relevant element of 1 cm. A fine example of this old classic!
