Azurite on Dolomite

Touissit, Morocco - 6x5x2.5 cm

This miniature from Morocco contains a lustrous and doubly terminated crystal of Azurite, perfectly centered on a carpet of red-brown small crystals of dolomite. The Azurite has very sharp edges and visible streakes on the top face. The crystal measures 1.3 cm, is absolutely free of any damage and (as shown in the photos) even exhibits a good transparency at the thinner boundaries. Really a top-quality miniature. Acquired at the Bologna Mineral Show in 2006.
