Beryl on Microcline

Apoaligun Mine - Skardu, Pakistan - 11x9x9 cm

An awesome, isolated Beryl, vertically placed on a large block of microcline, including many elements of mica and some opaque (very small) spessartine. In spite of the notable thickness (1 cm), the crystal exhibits an incredible transparency and an excellent clearness. All in all, the large matrix is well balanced with respect to the crystal, which measures 3 cm. Really a top-level specimen! Acquired at the Bologna Mineral Show in 2010, by an Asian dealer.
