Byssolite

Lappago, Bolzano - 14x8x10 cm

An uncommon, large hank of alpine bissolite on rock. purchased by Josef Kirchler at the beginning of 90's. I've never seen a specimen like this! The fibers are longer than 13 centimetres and the overall group is pristine and incredibly thick. I was said that when the fibers are very long, they are often removed, hoping to find some lustrous epidoto on the matrix. What an incomprehensible havoc! I really think the attractiveness of this specimen is worthy of praise on its own (with all respect for the epidoto!).
