Beryl and Ortoclase

S. Piero in Campo, Elba - 9x6x5 cm

When I graduated in 1990 I decided to give this beryl from Elba as a gift to myself, in spite of its rather high price. Really, it was a very good choice! At present, I would probably not be able to buy it because of the usual selling rate of such rare material. The crystal is 1 cm tall, extremely clear and bright and associated to two snow-white ortoclase crystals and a quartz. An old label reveals this specimen comes from the Mineralogical Museum of the Polytechnic of Turin. An extraordinary and unique "piece of history" for a mineral collector!
