Beryl

Skardu, Pakistan - 7x3.5x4.5 cm

A bright, perfect beryl of 2.4 cm (acquired in 2007) is vertically placed on a plate of orthoclase. It's so perfect that I suspected it was glued on the matrix, but a drastic treatment with acetone has revealed this is just its natural position. The presence of an inner ghost makes the crystal opaque in the first half, but moving to the top the clearness and the transparency are stunning. The multi-faced termination is perfect, so as the rest of the specimen. Really a jewel, with a great aesthetic impact!
