Beryl with Ortoclase

Teofilo Otomi, Brazil - 6x3.5x4 cm

A group of beryl crystals, with a pyramidal termination, are irregularly arranged on a pinked orthoclase with some small, golden mica. The color is rather pale and the crystals are transparent, even though all of them are characterized by inner, glassed veins. The main, centered crystal measures 3.2 cm and some horizontal element exhibits natural, re-crystallized terminations. No damage. As a whole, a very unusual and intriguing specimen, compared to the typical beryls coming from Asia. Swapped by an Italian dealer (in the mid of 80's), who acquired it from a very old collection in Brazil.
