If you want to better define the adjective "transparent" you should look at this incredible Beryl from Skardu. The isolated crystal is absolutely free of any damage, 5 cm tall and vertically leant against a white block of microcline. Moreover, it is perfectly bi-terminated. In spite of the relevant thickness (0.5 cm), the top portion of the crystal is so trasparent as you could easily read a book through it! Simply wonderful... I purchased this jewel by an italian dealer (known on e-bay) in 2007.
