Calcite

Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil - 3,5x3.5x2 cm

A marvelous butterfly-twin specimen of Calcite (maximum size of 2.4 cm) is three-dimensionally placed on a small quartz-based matrix, as if it were taking flight! The crystal is very transparent and the inner growing planes are clearly visible on the left "wing". Perfect shape, high brightness and no damage. This small nature's masterpiece was acquired by Rob Lavinsky in 2009.
