Calcite

Daye (Hubei), China - 7x6x4 cm

An imposing crystal of Calcite of approximately 3 cm dominates a plate of minor elements. Very sharp edges and excellent, complex shape. The presence of iron inclusions gives a dirty red colouring at one side of the crystal, while the opposite one is more transparent and clear. The growth streaks are very well visible on most of the crystal faces. Good aesthetics. Acquired by R&T Minerals in 2003.
