Calcite on Siderite

Capoterra, Cagliari - 10x7.5x6 cm

An excellent specimen of Calcite from Sardinia. A stunning crystal of 3 cm is vertically placed on a rather large plate characterized by numerous, fragile foils of brown siderite. The crystal is absolutely perfect, with a hexagonal shape, and shows on each face the growing planes in a very clear way. Very bright. The specimen includes a secondary, perfect crystal and, as a whole, has a great aesthetics! This cabinet was purchased at the Rome Mineral Show in 2006.
