Calcite and Quartz

Dashkesan Mine, Azerbaijan - 7x4x5 cm

Very nice couple of glassy and lustrous elements of Calcite on a matrix of quartz. The main crystal is biterminated and exhibits visible growth streakes on many faces, as you can see in the pictures. Nothing special, of course, but a good specimen and a delightful association with many pristine, thin quartz crystals. This miniature was shopped at the Bologna Mineral Show in 2002.
