Diopside on Hessonite

Bellecombe, Aosta - 5x4.5x2.5 cm

A jewel from Alps: a polychrome diopside, vertically placed on a carpet of hessonite and clinocloro. The crystal is 1 cm tall and exhibits a complex, serrate shape. White in the center, the color becomes green-pale moving towards both the sidetips. Excellent contrast with the red of the surrounding hessonite. Great aesthetics!
