Dioptase on Chrysocolla

Kaokoveld Plateau, Namibia - 13x8x6 cm

On a large quartz-based matrix (mostly covered by chrisocolla) a lot of lustrous and gemmy dioptase crystals are scattered. The deep green color is very close to the Tsumeb top-quality and the brightness of the overall specimen is very good. A stunning crystal, 1.8 cm tall, dominates this large cabinet, which is substantially free on any damage. Not easy to find such a high quality, large dioptase on the market: in my opinion, this is really a top-collection specimen. Acquired by Rob Lavinsky in 2009.
