Goshenite

Ping Wu (Sichuan), China - 6x3.5x3.5 cm

This incredible miniature consists of a pyramidal matrix of lustrous mica, exhibiting, at the top vertex, a brilliant, perfect hexagonal crystal of goshenite of 2.4 cm. The beryl is very clear, altough internally characterized by white and diffused veins. The best feature, however, is the astonishing position on the mica, which give an excellent three-dimensionality to the whole miniature. Acquired by John Veevart in 2009.
