Hematite on Dolomite

A stunning, isolated and lustrous crystal of hematite is vertically placed on a white and brilliant dolomite matrix. The hematite is literally a mirror and has a maximum size of approximately 1.7 cm and a thickness of 2 mm! A very small, red uvite increases the astonishing chromatic contrast of this wonderful miniature. Even though the crystal has a visible fracture line, the shape is perfect and the specimen is free of any damage. Acquired by Jordi Fabre at the end of 2007.
