Hessonite

Bellecombe, Aosta - 4.5x4x2 cm

A small, deep red coloured crystal of Hessonite is well-placed on a matrix with several clear elements of diopside. This association was rather common on this kind of alpine specimens from Bellecombe. The hessonite is very bright and free of any damage. Just a representative miniature from a well-known locality.
