Hematite with Quartz

What an incredible specimen from Alps! A vertical, very thin crystal of hematite (more than 2 cm tall) is embedded on a bright, horizontal (and rather hidden) quartz. The Hematite is an out-and-out mirror! Just in front to it, a stunning, perfect and clear quartz is vertically placed, like a proud and mighty guardian! The transparency and purity of both hematite and quartz are unequalled and justify, on their own, the love of all mineral collectors for alpine specimens. Acquired at the Bologna Mineral Show in 2008.
