"Gioia" quarry, Carrara - 10x6x7 cm

From the "Gioia" quarry in the well-known region of marble mining near Carrara, this perfect 1.6 cm crystal of quartz is placed of a milk-white element of calcite. The transparency and brightness are excellent, as it is quite usual in the quartz specimens coming from the famous italian marble quarries. These specimens are very appreciated among the collectors for their high quality and aesthetics, and they are going to be rarer and rarer on the market. This cabinet was purchased at the end on 90's, from a local miner. Very, very fine.
