Emerald on Quartz

Cosquez, Colombia - 9x7x4.5 cm

I think a transparent, deep green emerald on matrix is, more or less, a dream for any mineral collector. This cabinet come from Cosquez (Colombia) and includes a crystal of 1.2 cm, vertically placed in a small vug on a typical quartz-based matrix. Good transparency and color (certainly not the top quality, but I'm not a millionaire!), the crystal has a perfect termination and is free of any damage. I purchased it at the Roma Mineral Show in 1999.
