Spessartine on Ortoclase

I call this exceptional spessartine my "glass of Barolo", since the deep red color you can admire by positioning the crystal backlight just remind a glass of that precious red wine! The isolated spessartine measures 1.2 cm, is well placed on a block of ortoclase and absolutely free of any damage. A very fine example of this wonderful mineral! Acquired at the Bologna Mineral Show in 2002.
