Titanite

Valle Rossa, Bolzano - 5.5x5x3.5 cm

An excellent specimen of alpine sphene from the Red Valley ("Valle Rossa"), at the boundary between Italy and Austria. This miniature exhibits several and pristine bright yellow crystals, scattered on the matrix. These titanites have become really hard to find, especially if you don't know "exactly" where to search for them and you're not a rock-climber! High quality and great attractiveness in this classic alpine specimen, acquired by Josef Kirchler in the 90's.
