Titanite

Grossrenediger, Austria - 4x2x2.5 cm

This incredible miniature shows a glassy, doubly terminated titanite crystal of 1.5 cm on a small carpet of albite and clorite. The "head" of the crystal is very transparent, and the whole specimen exhibits an extraordinary limpidity, all over the Alpine minerals. Absolutely, no damage. The specimen belonged to the Kirchler collection (probably the best collection of Alpine minerals in the world) and was shopped at Joseph Kirchler in the early '90s. A stunning treasure from the Swiss Alps!
