Titanite

Gilgit, Pakistan - 6x4.5x2.5 cm

A free-damage, lustrous sphene crystal lays down on a small rock covered with micro-crystals of titanite and mica. The main crystal is 1.3 cm tall. It exhibits a brilliant brown color which is a little bit uncommon compared to the green titanites and is very appreciated among the collectors. The edges are well-defined and sharp. Very aesthetic! This miniature was the first asiatic sphene to be included in the collection: it was purchased at a Bologna Mineral Show at the beginning of 90's.
