Tourmaline with Cleavelandite

Stak Nala, Pakistan - 6.5x4x4.5 cm

A stunning couple of parallel tourmalines (6 cm tall), surrounded by clear foils of Cleavelandite. The tourmalines are polychrome: starting from bottom, the dark color clearly fades into a green tonality and becomes white on the top of both crystals, characterized by excellent and perfect terminations. I bought this specimen by an italian dealer (Corrado Vietti) at a Mineral Show in Rome, at the end of the 80's, when such aesthetic specimens were not very common. As a matter of fact, this was the first tourmaline to enter the collection!
