Vesuvianite

Bellecombe, Aosta - 6x4x2.5 cm

A specimen of times gone by! An incredible group of olive-green Vesuviana crystals from Bellecombe, within the heart of the Italian Alps. All crystals are in excellent condition, but the two centered elements are really fantastic, vertically placed, with a perfect termination and an incredible transparency. The tallest one measures 1.5 cm. Nowadays, these kind of alpine vesuvianas are practically unobtainable and, when available, have always a very high selling rate. I found this miniature at the Verona Mineral Show in the 80's and I've not been seeing specimens like this for many, many years. Great aesthetics!
