Vesuvianite

Bellecombe, Aosta - 7x5x3 cm

A spectacular specimen of Vesuviana from the Italian Alps. The isolated, very lustrous, bi-terminated crystal is 1.5 cm tall and is absolutely perfect. The inner color (visible just placing the crystal backlight and in the slight reflections at the bottom) somehow reminds the "marc", the residue left after the bunches have been crushed to make wine. This particular color is rarer than the deep, olive-gree color characterizing the classic specimens from Bellecombe and very appreciated among the collectors. Nowadays, it is very hard to find such a top quality on the market!
